Ameg Lodge (Shanty Town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 20 (10 standard, 5 deluxe, 5 suites, 1 building has 4 rooms)
  • Swimming Pool: Small
  • A/C: Fans
  • Garden/Grounds: Large grassy area good for running around
  • Notes: The second nicest hotel in Moshi.
  • Pros: Spacious grounds, fitness center, good for kids who want to run around or people who want to workout
  • Cons: Sometimes bad service, no trees so can be hot

Bristol Cottages (In town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 17 (3 are suites)
  • Swimming Pool: N
  • A/C: Some have A/C, all have ceiling fans
  • Garden/Grounds: Very nice like an oasis in the middle of town
  • Notes: This is our favorite mid-range hotel in Moshi. It is right in town and has nice rooms and lots of foliage.
  • Pros: In town, really nice for the price
  • Cons: Some Mosque and traffic noise, no pool

 

Impala Hotel Kilimanjaro (Shanty Town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 15 (1 is a suite)
  • Swimming Pool: Medium
  • A/C: Fans
  • Garden/Grounds: Patchy
  • Notes: A mid-range hotel with swimming pool.
  • Pros: Swimming pool
  • Cons: Rooms are rundown, pool can be busy with locals

Jacaranda B&B (In town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 5 (All rooms have queen beds (no twins or triples), mosquito netting)
  • Swimming Pool: N
  • A/C: A/C in all rooms
  • Garden/Grounds: Nice green area for sitting, can see Kilimanjaro
  • Notes: Very small, but intimate with nice owner. It is just on the edge of town.
  • Pros: Cute and intimate, cheap, espresso, good for couples and singles
  • Cons: A bit out of town, no twin beds

Kindoroko Hotel (In town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 20 (A bit dark but spacious)
  • Swimming Pool: N
  • A/C: Fans
  • Garden/Grounds: In town, so no garden area
  • Notes: Right in town near the outdoor market and many coffee shops.
  • Pros: In town, cheap
  • Cons: Common areas a little dark and dingy

 

Parkview Hotel (In town)

Amenities:

  • Rooms: 44 (Large rooms with queen, twin, and king beds available, suites are extra large with Kili view)
  • Swimming Pool: Medium
  • A/C: A/C in all rooms
  • Garden/Grounds: A lot of cement, but nice foliage also
  • Notes: This is a nice mid-range hotel and has a swimming pool.
  • Pros: In town, fairly new and clean
  • Cons: Sterile-looking (no character)
